Simley opened their season at Apple Valley on Friday, November 30th. Both teams came in ranked #2 in their respective classes. Each team was ranked nationally. Simley had not beat Apple Valley in dual meet since 1992. Simley would win the first two matches with ninth graders Peyton Spychalla and Cory Primeau. At 126lbs ninth grader Chase DeBleare would upset #3 ranked Regan Schrempp and springboard the Spartans. Ryan Sokol would get a fall at 132lbs. Cael Berg would beat #3 ranked Adam Mickelson. At 152lbs 8th grader Gavin Nelson would get a 5-2 decision in a key matchup. In the biggest match of the night #1 Ranked senior captain Jacob Hageman would take on #1 ranked senior form Apple Valley Devin Roberts. The match would be won by Hageman. Tenth grader Quayin Short would add fall at 182lbs. Bennet Tabor would ice the dual meet at 220LBS with a fall. Simley would win the dual 36-24
